Walking back into the
church, I found Sebastiano on the steps in front of the altar. He looked
agitated and ruthless as I observed him, toying with his rosary beads. His
shirt looked like it had been haphazardly ripped open. He didn’t resemble the
man I knew; a man who could be harmless, soft and so sweet at times. But deep
down, I know he wasn’t.

him. I should have stayed away from him, but I didn’t want to. The pull was too
strong, too urgent.

The Don: Sebastiano by Elle Raven and Aimie Jennison was seriously twisted and super hott!! (And I am not sure which part I enjoyed more!!) I am a sucker for anything mafia related...(Goodfellas is my favorite movie...ever!!) so I was instantly drawn to this book when I read the synopsis. Well, these ladies did not disappoint.
There were a few points in the story that I felt were a bit of a reach-- like Sierra on a whim just decides it's a grand idea to go meet with the most dangerous man in the country.. and the whole I do whatever I want when and where I want thing Sabastiano has going on (but hey, it is a fiction book...and who knows... it's the mob so I guess anything is possible) and two pretty huge plot points that could have used a bit more description (in my opinion only...I mean, they were discussed but they were HUGE so a little more information or more dialogue about the them would have not been over doing it.)
More importantly thought was what I adored about this book- the transformation of Sabastiano. I really appreciated how the authors held him true to form until the very last second. I love the whole "people can change" and "shed the darkness of your past" thing they did with his character. It was really kind of sad to see what he thought of himself until Sierra came into his life, hell even when he had her, he still thought he was unworthy of love. (Man, his daddy issues were really worthy of some couch time with Dr. Phil!!)
Sierra was another great part of this book. She is the walking, talking definition of unconditional. It was heart-warming, actually. She knew all about the life she was walking into and accepted it because she knew that it was the only way she could have the man that she loved. And she loved him no matter what the monster inside of him did because she knew he would NEVER do it to her!
This book definitely had some dark and twisty to it! I wasn't expecting that at all but it made me so very excited!!! And boy, these ladies can sure write some steamy ass sex scenes!!! After that church scene I felt like I needed confession!! Holy Wax, Batman!!
All in All. this book was total entertainment! I really enjoyed it from start to finish!! I can not wait for The Capo's story (and hopefully he can some how convince The Don that he is the perfect man for Lorena!!!)
